Bloco Locomotiva Piritubana: The Samba that Moves Pirituba
Founded in 1988 in the Pirituba neighborhood of São Paulo, the Bloco Locomotiva Piritubana is an icon of the São Paulo carnival. Initially known as Grupo de Samba Amigos de Pirituba (Samba Group Friends of Pirituba), it adopted its current name in 2003.
Proposal and Identity
Recognized for its animation and community engagement, Locomotiva Piritubana is a creative bloco that brings samba-enredo (theme samba) as its main musical style. Its proposal is to promote carnival culture and strengthen community ties.

During the parades, the bloco has a complete structure, including floats, drums, passistas (samba dancers), and interpreters. Rehearsals are held throughout the year to ensure an impeccable performance.
