The Cordão Sucatas Ambulantes is a carnival bloco (street band) that emerged in the Grajaú neighborhood, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, in 1996. Founded by a group of friends, the bloco stands out for its use of musical instruments made of scrap, such as cans, bottles, and pans, giving rise to the name "Sucatas Ambulantes" (Walking Scrap).

Musical Identity and Repertoire

The bloco's musical style is "samba de lata" (tin can samba), characterized by scrap percussion. The repertoire consists of traditional carnival songs, as well as original compositions.
