About the Bloco
Founded in 2007, Bloco Escangalha is a champion of the traditional street carnival of Rio de Janeiro. With its own drum section, the bloco presents sambas from all eras, including classic samba-enredo songs from Rio's samba schools.

Created by a group of friends, Escangalha debuted at the 2008 carnival in Praça Santos Dumont. The bloco stands out for its organization and tranquility, as well as the creative costumes of its members.

Parades and Performances
Escangalha's parades traditionally start in the morning and focus on Rua Jardim Botânico, continuing to Praça Santos Dumont. The bloco performs in the Gávea neighborhood, contributing to the excitement of the carnival in the region.
