About Estratégia

"Estratégia" (Strategy), a Carnival bloco, emerged in 1970 in downtown Rio de Janeiro, with the aim of rescuing Brazilian Black music. With performances in Largo São Francisco de Paula and Aterro do Flamengo, they celebrate respect, struggle, and freedom through Brazilian Black music from the 70s. Costumes with Black Power wigs are an important element.
