The "Sons of Ishmael" bloco honors the legendary samba musician Ismael Silva, founder of the first samba school, "Deixa Falar". Born in Estácio, the birthplace of samba, the bloco preserves the tradition of "samba de sambar" (samba to samba), a strong and danceable rhythm characteristic of the neighborhood.

Founded in 1946, the "Sons of Ishmael" bloco emerged as a manifestation of Ismael Silva's legacy. Its performances date back to the Carnival of 2018, enlivening the streets of Estácio with the contagious rhythm of samba.
Musical Identity
