The Galo da Madrugada (Rooster of the Dawn), created on January 23, 1978, in the city of Recife, Pernambuco! Founded by Enéas Freire and friends, the bloco revitalized the traditional carnival with live music, including frevo. A Cultural Heritage of the State, the Galo da Madrugada is a symbol of the Recife Carnival, parading in São José every Saturday.

Founded on January 23, 1978, in the São José neighborhood, Folha do Galo emerged with the aim of revitalizing the traditional carnival. The name "Galo da Madrugada" (Rooster of the Dawn) symbolizes the dedication of the organizers, who spent nights working to prepare the bloco for the parade.

Musical Identity

Frevo is the main rhythm of Folha do Galo, accompanied by other musical genres characteristic of Pernambuco's carnival. The instrumentation includes frevo orchestras, electric trios, and cultural groups such as maracatu and caboclinhos.

Parades and Performances
