Since its foundation, the Constança Barbosa Band, affectionately known as the Rooster of Méier, has been a vibrant pillar in the carnival scene of Rio de Janeiro. The parades of the Rooster of Méier traditionally take place on Rua Constança Barbosa, 212, in the Méier neighborhood. Concentrations begin at 3 pm, with the official parade starting around 6 pm and ending at 9 pm. The route includes the streets Constança Barbosa, Manuela Barbosa, Dias da Cruz and Magalhães Couto.
