Bloco 0800 Deekapz

Bloco 0800 Deekapz is a relatively recent addition to the vibrant Carnival scene in São Paulo, Brazil. Emerging in the 2010s, this bloco quickly gained popularity for its unique blend of electronic music with traditional Brazilian rhythms. Unlike many other blocos that focus on samba or traditional marchinhas, 0800 Deekapz brings a modern, urban vibe to the streets during Carnival.

The bloco's name, '0800', which is a Brazilian term for toll-free phone numbers, is often interpreted as a nod to accessibility and inclusivity, aligning with their philosophy of creating a free and open party for everyone. 'Deekapz' is a reference to the artistic project of the bloco's founders, DJ and producer Deekapz. Their repertoire typically includes mashups and remixes of popular songs, baile funk, hip-hop, and other electronic genres, all infused with a Brazilian flavor that encourages everyone to dance. The bloco is known for its lively and energetic parades, often attracting a younger crowd.

While not having a long history like some of the more traditional blocos, 0800 Deekapz has become an important part of São Paulo's Carnival, showcasing the city's diverse musical landscape. They usually parade in Vila Madalena and Pinheiros neighborhood, which are known for their bohemian atmosphere and nightlife. The bloco contributes to the cultural richness of Carnival, proving that the festival is always evolving.
