Founded in 2006 by friends from Rua Filippo Juvara, the Acadêmicos do Ipanema Block is one of the groups responsible for revitalizing the street Carnival in São Paulo. With the aim of bringing joy to the residents of the East Zone, the block maintains the traditional spirit of popular festivals.

Acadêmicos do Ipanema presents a classic repertoire of carnival marches and samba themes, preserving the musical essence of Carnival. Despite the lack of information on contemporary adaptations or rhythm fusions, the block maintains the sound tradition that has been driving the celebration for decades.

Special Features

The block stands out for its role as an agent of community integration, providing free access to Carnival in peripheral regions. Its trajectory follows the exponential growth of street blocks in São Paulo, maintaining its popular roots amidst the professionalization of megablocks.

Acadêmicos do Ipanema concentrates its parades in the East Zone of São Paulo, without fixed routes or specific emblematic points. Despite the lack of data on audience size or participation in larger events, the block fulfills its mission of bringing joy and fostering the carnival spirit in the community.
