Baianada Block: Celebrate the Energy of Bahia at the São Paulo Carnival

The Baianada Block is one of the most lively and traditional carnival blocks in São Paulo, bringing the energy and axé of Bahia to the streets of the metropolis. Founded in the mid-2000s, the block emerged with the mission of celebrating Bahian culture in Brazil's largest city.

Musical Identity and Repertoire

Baianada stands out for its eclectic musical repertoire, which mixes classics of axé music with contemporary hits, always maintaining the essence of the Bahian carnival. The block's live band performs songs by renowned artists such as Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, Claudia Leitte, and Banda Eva.

Special Features

A unique feature of Baianada is the presence of professional dancers who teach typical axé choreographies to revelers during the parade. This promotes greater interaction and immersion in Bahian culture. In addition, the block is known for distributing ribbons of Senhor do Bonfim, a traditional symbol of Bahia, reinforcing the connection with the cultural roots of the northeastern state.

Parade Information

Traditionally, the Baianada Block parades in the central region of São Paulo, usually in Vila Madalena or Largo da Batata. The parade takes place on the weekend preceding the official carnival, contributing to the growing movement of the São Paulo pre-carnival.

The Baianada Block has played an important role in diversifying the street carnival of São Paulo, contributing to the cultural plurality of the party in the city. Over the years, the block has attracted not only Bahians residing in São Paulo, but also Paulistanos and tourists from various origins, interested in experiencing the energy and joy of the Bahian carnival.
