Bloco Santinha é a Mãe: Samba and Animation in Tijuca

Founded in 1995, the Bloco Santinha é a Mãe (Little Saint is the Mother Block) pays homage to the patron saint of Tijuca, Saint Teresa. With its contagious animation and quality samba theme song, the block is a highlight of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival.

During the parades, the block presents a float, drums, and dancers that bring joy to the streets of Tijuca. Santinha's repertoire is composed of its own samba theme songs and classics of Rio de Janeiro samba.
