About Bloco do Boteco

Bloco do Boteco, founded in the 2020s, revives the street carnival of São Paulo with an eclectic mix of classic marchinhas, samba-enredo, and funk. Its program in Penha (2025) includes the samba-enredo "Boteco, Intangible Heritage" and a remix of "Evidências" with local DJs.

In addition to musical performances, the bloco promotes the revitalization of public spaces and the appreciation of the peripheral creative economy. Facing real estate pressures, Bloco do Boteco defends the preservation of historical sites such as Bar do Seu Neném, demolished in 2024.
