About BLOCO DO FAÍSCA

Bloco do Faísca, founded in 2015, is a carnival bloco from São Paulo that unites samba, popular culture, and political awareness. Its mascot, the character "Faísca" (Spark), is a tribute to the Electricians' Union, which inspired the bloco's creation.

Parading in the Liberdade neighborhood, Bloco do Faísca values the tradition of samba and marchinhas, counting on the participation of union entities and maintaining a commitment to social and political critique.

BLOCO DO FAÍSCA: Samba and Revelry in Engenho de Dentro

BLOCO DO FAÍSCA is a traditional carnival group from the Engenho de Dentro neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. Founded in 1985, the bloco takes its name in homage to the song "Faísca" by Chico Buarque.

Composed of friends and residents of the neighborhood, BLOCO DO FAÍSCA is known for its lively samba theme song and strong percussion section. During Carnival, it parades along Avenida 28 de Setembro, one of the main thoroughfares of Engenho de Dentro.

The bloco performs with a percussion section, samba dancers, and singing wings. In addition to the Carnival parades, BLOCO DO FAÍSCA holds weekly rehearsals throughout the year. The group also participates in cultural events and street bloco parades.

In São Paulo, BLOCO DO FAÍSCA parades in the São Paulo neighborhood of São Paulo. Its presence in the city of São Paulo is a reflection of the cultural diversity and the carnival spirit that unites different regions of Brazil.
