About Bloco Feminista

The Feminist Bloc, founded in 2017, is a landmark in the São Paulo carnival, promoting female empowerment. Its percussion section, mostly composed of women, breaks with stereotypes and values female participation in all instruments.

With a diverse repertoire that addresses issues of equality and combating harassment, the bloc parades through the central region of the city, usually on Carnival Tuesday. In addition to the parades, it holds open rehearsals that strengthen the feminist movement and promote debates on gender issues.
