History and Origin

"Bonde da Folia" emerged from a group of friends, including set designer and visual artist Jaime Pinheiro. Initially with 27 members, the block grew to over 700 members, with a drumline of 80 enthusiasts. Based in Santa Teresa, the block also performs in Tatuí, holding "warm-ups" in various neighborhoods and in the city center.

"Bonde da Folia" is known for promoting a safe and fun carnival environment, maintaining the carnival tradition and infecting the public with its joy. Its repertoire consists of classic samba songs, with a focus on carnival tradition.

Practical Information

The parades of "Bonde da Folia" follow an established route, which may include streets in the Santa Teresa neighborhood. In addition to the official carnival parades, the block holds "warm-ups" and rehearsals in various locations. In Tatuí, the "Banda do Bonde" holds a "marathon of parades, rehearsals and performances."
