About Escola de Samba Principe Negro
Founded in 1964, Príncipe Negro is a traditional samba school in São Paulo. Originally from Vila Prudente, it moved to Cidade Tiradentes in the 1980s, accompanying its displaced residents. Currently, it parades in the fifth division of the São Paulo carnival, representing the resistance and preservation of samba traditions in the city's peripheries.
In 2024, the school celebrates 60 years of existence, highlighting its resilience and contribution to the São Paulo carnival. Príncipe Negro is an important cultural institution in Cidade Tiradentes, promoting samba and keeping the carnival tradition alive in the region.
