G.R. Bloco Carnavalesco Império do Morro is a traditional bloco (street band) from the M'Boi Mirim region, in the southern zone of São Paulo. Known for bringing the essence of street carnival to the periphery, the bloco parades through the streets of the Jardim Monte Azul neighborhood, concentrating on Rua Inácio Dias de Oliveira.

In 2024, Império do Morro will follow the schedule: gathering at 2 PM, start of the parade at 3 PM, and dispersal at 7 PM. The bloco is part of the official São Paulo Carnival calendar, demonstrating its importance and recognition as an integral part of the city's carnival festivities.

Founded in 1953 in Morro da Mangueira, Rio de Janeiro, G.R. Bloco Carnavalesco Império do Morro is one of the most traditional and respected carnival blocks in Brazil.

With its powerful percussion section and captivating samba themes, Império do Morro is known for its electrifying performances at the Sambadrome of Marquês de Sapucaí on Carnival Monday.

The block has a musical structure based on the samba theme, sung by its members during the parades.

Currently, Império do Morro is based in São Paulo, São Paulo, where it continues to captivate revelers with its passion for samba and Brazilian carnival culture.
