The "Aconteceu" Block: A Pulsating Heart in Santa Teresa's Carnival

Rio's Carnival explodes in colors, rhythms, and joy, and the "Aconteceu" block is at the center of this vibrant celebration. With deep roots in Santa Teresa, this block captivates crowds with its contagious performances.

Gathering and Performances

"Aconteceu" gathers at two strategic points: Rua Áurea, 326, and Largo das Neves, 8. From there, the block parades through the streets of the neighborhood, bringing its contagious energy to the street festivities. During the Carnival season, the block has scheduled performances, such as the one scheduled for February 2, 2025, with gathering at 4 pm.

Cultural Impact

"Aconteceu" is more than just a Carnival block; it is a symbol of Rio's street culture. Unlike the Sambadrome parades, the blocks offer a closer and more interactive experience, connecting locals and tourists with the true essence of the celebration. With its historical roots in the Cordões of the 19th century, the blocks are an essential part of the identity of Rio de Janeiro's Carnival.
