About Arrastão da Vila Guarani

Founded in 1971, Arrastão da Vila Guarani emerged as a collective of residents promoting the musical culture and tradition of the Vila Guarani neighborhood in São Paulo. Evolving from an informal group to an official bloco (street band), Arrastão highlights samba and carnival marches.

In its parades through the streets of the neighborhood, members display colorful costumes and animate the public with their contagious repertoire. The bloco also organizes cultural events and music workshops, strengthening the identity and the local community.
