About Bloco do Água Preta
The Bloco do Água Preta is a traditional street carnival bloco from São Paulo, known for its authenticity and connection to local history. It parades on the Saturdays after Carnival, following the route of the old Água Preta Stream.
Maintaining a traditional structure, the bloco is characterized as a "ground bloco," with emphasis on the Roda D'Água, a samba circle that starts at 5 pm with varied repertoires and moments of improvisation. In 2024, it released the single "Sombra e Água Preta" (Shadow and Black Water), demonstrating its commitment to its own musical production.
