About Bloco do Beco

Bloco do Beco, founded in 2002, is a carnival group from the southern zone of São Paulo that values street carnival culture. With roots in samba, the group also embraces diverse Brazilian rhythms, including maracatu.

In addition to the carnival parades, Bloco do Beco maintains an active presence in the community throughout the year, promoting cultural events and offering classes and workshops through its three community spaces: the Bloco do Beco Culture Point, the Luiza Erundina Community Library, and IbiraLab.
