About Bloco Vez e Voz

Vez e Voz Block: Inclusive and Transformative Carnival

The Vez e Voz Block is a Carnival block from São Paulo that emerged in 2024 with the proposal to promote inclusion, diversity, and social reflections through the Carnival celebration.

Origin and Creation

Founded by artist Éric Tomas, the block has its roots in the inclusion of Samba in LGBTQIA+ Pride Parades. This origin is reflected in the group's proposal, which seeks to value historically silenced voices and promote equality and social transformation.

Musical Identity

The musical proposal of the Vez e Voz Block is diverse, mixing rhythms such as samba, axé, and pop. This diversity reflects the composition of the block itself, which involves the Black, LGBTQIAPN+, and People with Disabilities (PWDs) communities.

Special Features

The block stands out for:

  • Inclusion and diversity
  • Reflections on social issues
  • Valorization of silenced voices
  • Innovative artistic proposal

Parades

The Vez e Voz Block has already paraded along the iconic Rua Augusta in São Paulo. For the 2024 Carnival, for example, the block left around 1:30 pm from Rua Augusta.

Cultural Impact

The Vez e Voz Block has gained recognition for its inclusive approach and cultural impact. It presents itself as a platform for groups that need greater visibility and public policies, conveying a message of inclusion and respect for diversity.
