Galo da Madrugada

Galo da Madrugada, which translates to "Rooster of the Dawn," is a renowned Carnival bloco from Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. It is considered one of the largest Carnival parades in the world, earning a spot in the Guinness World Records. Founded in 1978 by a group of friends, the bloco was created as a way to celebrate Carnival in a more popular and accessible format. Its first parade consisted of 75 people and a small orchestra.

The bloco parades every Carnival Saturday, attracting millions of revelers to the streets of Recife. The route usually starts at the São José neighborhood and winds through the city center, ending at the Marco Zero. The Galo's official theme song, "O Hino do Galo," is always played, alongside a diverse repertoire of traditional Pernambuco rhythms such as frevo, maracatu, and coco. The parade is known for its massive scale, with enormous floats, giant puppets, and a diverse crowd of participants.
