Bloco da Gold: The Northeast Invades Rio's Carnival

Get ready for the new wave of Rio de Janeiro's Street Carnival! Bloco da Gold, which emerged in 2024, has won the hearts of revelers with its innovative and contagious musical proposal.

Rise of the Northeastern Beat

Unlike traditional sambas and marches, Bloco da Gold brings axé and other northeastern rhythms to Rio's Carnival. This influence reflects the growing popularity of these musical styles in the country's biggest popular festival.

Electrifying Structure

The bloco features an electric trio, a characteristic structure of carnivals in cities like Salvador. Its crowded performances, such as the pre-Carnival event in 2024 that attracted 500,000 people, electrify the streets of Rio.

Repertoire: Axé and Much More

Bloco da Gold's repertoire is a celebration of northeastern music. Revelers can dance to the sound of renowned artists such as Leo Santana, as well as other rhythms that bring joy to the Northeast.
