BLOCO DO BALANÇO Founded in 1975 in Ouro Preto, Balanço da Cobra is a community bloco known for its irreverent marchinhas and social satires. In Rio de Janeiro, two blocos stand out: Bloco da Balanço, founded in 2018 by Yago Simões, which aims to create a young and innovative experience; and Bloco do Jamelão, also from Rio de Janeiro.

In Ouro Preto, Balanço da Cobra (Swing of the Snake) was founded in 1975, marking its presence with irreverent marches and social satires. In Rio de Janeiro, Bloco da Balanço (Swing Band) debuted in 2023 in Lapa, bringing a young and innovative approach.

Musical Identity and Repertoire

Each Bloco do Balanço has its unique musical identity. Bloco da Balanço (Lapa) emphasizes percussion, blending samba-enredo with popular genres. Balanço da Cobra is known for its carnival marches, while Bloco Balanço do Jamelão, also from Rio de Janeiro, focuses on samba and animation.
