The Bloco do Clareou (Clareou Block) emerged inspired by the Clareou Group, with Composto Branco, Anderson Mendonça (Buiu), Fernando Mellete (tantan), and Juninho de Jesus (banjo). The block performs mainly in Rio de Janeiro, on Av. Lúcio Costa, 2970, in February. With samba and pagode rhythms, the Bloco do Clareou brings the energy of music to the streets, creating an atmosphere.

Bloco do Clareou: Energy and Joy of Rio Carnival

The Bloco do Clareou emerged inspired by the vibrant music of Grupo Clareou, bringing its contagious energy to the streets of Rio de Janeiro during Carnival.

History and Origin

Founded in 2010, Grupo Clareou is formed by Composto Branco (vocals), Anderson Mendonça (Buiu) (pandeiro), Fernando Mellete (tantan) and Juninho de Jesus (banjo). The bloco was created to share the joy and music of the group with the public in the streets.

Musical Identity and Repertoire

The Bloco do Clareou presents a lively repertoire of samba and pagode, strongly influenced by Grupo Clareou. Its captivating songs and engaging rhythms promise to liven up the audience and create an atmosphere of celebration.

Practical Information

The bloco traditionally parades in Barra da Tijuca, at Av. Lúcio Costa, 2970. In 2023, the parade is scheduled for Sunday, February 19, at 8 am. The Bloco do Clareou also performs at other events and festivals throughout the year.
