Carousel of Emotions: The Nostalgic Energy of Funk at Carnival

The Carousel of Emotions is a Carnival bloco (street band) that mixes the samba beat with the funk rhythm of the 80s and 90s. Created in 2012, the bloco pays tribute to the duo Claudinho e Buchecha and stands out for presenting funk with striking melodies and less explicit lyrics.

Musical Identity

The Carousel of Emotions' repertoire includes funk classics, current hits with their own arrangements, and songs by Claudinho. In addition to funk, the bloco also incorporates axé, sertanejo, and pop-rock from the 90s and 2000s into its performances. The result is a mixture of the nostalgia of the 2000s with a modern pop energy.

Parades and Performances

The Carousel of Emotions mainly performs in the Center of Rio de Janeiro, on Rua Primeiro de Março. Its performances are known for their high energy, with the audience singing and dancing. The bloco has 19 musicians, including vocalists, harmony elements, a large drum section, and a DJ.
