Founded in 2020, "Chove na Barra" is a carnival block that brings a unique musical experience to Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. With an eclectic approach, the block mixes Brazilian rhythms with other genres, creating a festive and contagious atmosphere.
History and Tradition
The block arose from the initiative of DJ Lucão and Nando Ferreira, debuting in the 2020 Carnival. Its roots are in Barra da Tijuca, where it holds its parades on Avenida Lúcio Costa, near the Barramares Condominium.
Musical Identity
"Chove na Barra" presents a diverse repertoire, which includes samba, pop, and MPB (Brazilian Popular Music). The block is known for taking songs from other genres and adding a Brazilian beat, creating unique and lively versions.
Parades and Performances
The block holds parades on the street, following a route on Avenida Lúcio Costa. In addition, "Chove na Barra" also performs at events such as the shows on the Terrace of Barra Shopping.
