Founded in 1984 in the Santo Antônio Além do Carmo neighborhood, in Salvador, Bahia, the Cordão das Amoxtradas is a samba-reggae street block known for its lively performances and colorful costumes.

The block's name is a tribute to the street vendors of roasted almonds who frequented the region where the block was created.

Over the years, the Cordão das Amoxtradas has established itself as one of the most popular carnival blocks in Salvador. With weekly rehearsals throughout the year, the block performs at carnival with a repertoire that includes samba-reggae and other popular Brazilian songs.
