Founded in 2018 by Black women from the Cordovil neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, Cordão Quintal da XIKA is a carnival bloco that honors the quilombo leader Chica da Silva.

Accompanied by drums, cavaquinho, pandeiro, and other traditional samba instruments, Cordão Quintal da XIKA presents samba de raiz and samba-enredo, valuing the musical roots of carnival.
