O Fervo da Lud: Ludmilla's Megabloco at Rio Carnival

O Fervo da Lud, led by Brazilian singer Ludmilla, is one of the largest and most lively street bands (blocos) of the Rio de Janeiro carnival. Created in 2018, the bloco has already attracted over 1 million revelers to its parade, considered a record for Rio's blocos.

About the Bloco

O Fervo da Lud mainly parades in downtown Rio de Janeiro, on Rua Primeiro de Março. In 2024, due to the large crowd, the route extended to Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos. In 2025, the bloco also has a parade scheduled in Salvador, Bahia, on the Barra-Ondina circuit.

History and Tradition

O Fervo da Lud was created in 2018 and quickly became one of the most popular street bands of the Rio carnival. In 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the bloco attracted around 1 million people. In 2024, Fervo da Lud reached the mark of 1.2 million revelers, considered a record for street bands in the Rio carnival that year.

Musical Identity

The musical style of Fervo da Lud is a mix of funk, axé, and pagode, reflecting Ludmilla's musical diversity. The performances include the singer's hits, such as "Macetando", "Maldivas", "Hoje" and other songs from her repertoire. The bloco often features guest artists and personalities, including musicians, dancers, and actors.

Parades and Performances

The Fervo da Lud parade includes a sound truck (trio elétrico) and a large number of revelers following the music. The parades usually start in the morning, but the exact times may vary. In 2023, for example, it started at 7 am, while in 2024, around 9 am. The bloco's parades usually last for several hours, but in 2024, the parade was shortened due to extreme heat. The bloco also holds rehearsals before the carnival.
